The New Mexico Museum of Art offers volunteers a wide range of art-related projects in which they can help the paid staff. We are greatly indebted to our volunteers for the thousands of hours of service they donate each year. Volunteer opportunites are:
Docent Program
Docents that have been trained by the Museum of Art offer tours:
- tours of the museum at 10:30 a.m. daily and 2:00 p.m. daily (except Friday)
- walking tours of public art in downtown Santa Fe on Mondays at 10:00am, April-November (weather permitting); Fridays, 10 a.m. June-August.
- tours of the museum to groups who schedule special tours.
Docents attend a 6-month training course and monthly education meetings. Docents typically volunteer 100 hours to the museum annually.

Library and Archives
The outstanding research library is a favorite among our volunteers. The librarian needs help with the annual book sale fundraiser and various special projects.
