Sherwin Bitsui has a BA from the University of Arizona and an AFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts. He is a recipient of many honors, including a Lannan Foundation Literary Fellowship, a 2010 PEN Open Book Award, and the Whiting Writers Award. He is the author of Shapeshift (University of Arizona Press 2003) and Flood Song (Copper Canyon Press 2009).
