Accessibility
The New Mexico Museum of Art believes that art is for everyone and seeks to make museum spaces, exhibitions, and programs accessible for visitors of all abilities.
Wheelchair Access
A limited number of wheelchairs are available for use at both our Plaza Building and Vladem Contemporary locations. Please inquire at the front desk upon your arrival. Motorized wheelchairs are permitted.
Gallery Seating
Gallery stools are available for use in the Plaza Building galleries, while Vladem Contemporary has bench seating throughout.
Elevators
Elevators are available for access to our second-floor galleries at both locations. For questions or assistance, please inquire with the front desk or gallery security staff.
Parking
Designated accessible parking is available in front of the Plaza Building on the south side of Palace Avenue. A designated accessible parking spot is located on the south side of the Vladem Contemporary in front of the Santa Fe Depot. Metered street parking is available around both the Plaza Building and Vladem Contemporary; persons who display accessible registration plates or valid placards may park at any parking meter for free.
Power Assist Doors
Power assist entrance doors are located at both the North and South entrances of the Vladem Contemporary, accessible restrooms are located downstairs. The Vladem Contemporary galleries do not have power assist doors, please seek assistance from the front desk. Due to historic preservation requirements, power assist doors are not available to enter the Plaza Building. Please contact the front desk at (505) 476-5063 for assistance upon arrival.
Service Animals
Trained service animals are welcome at the Museum. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted. For more information, see the Service Animal Overview from the New Mexico Governor’s Commission on Disability.

American sign language (asl) interpretation
Tours with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation are available upon request, subject to availability of interpreters. Requests must be made with three days advance notice. Please contact Sarah Zurick at 505-396-0643 or sarah.zurick@dca.nm.gov.
