Spring Silent Film Performance: The General

Join the New Mexico Museum of Art and Santa Fe Pro Musica for a screening of Buster Keaton’s 1926 silent film classic The General  with live organ accompaniment by David Solem in St. Francis Auditorium.

A comic epic of silent film, The General was one of the most expensive films of the era, featuring hundreds of extras, dangerous stunts all performed by Keaton himself, and a locomotive falling from a burning bridge into a gorge.  The General  was voted one of the ten greatest films of all time in the authoritative critic’s poll by Sight & Sound film magazine.

Run time is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Cost: $10
