Alphonse Mucha: The Man, The Artist, The Legacy with Marcus Mucha

Alphonse Mucha: The Man, The Artist, The Legacy with Mucha’s Great-Grandson, Marcus Mucha, looks at Alphonse’s life, the development of his career as an artist – from a boy in a small village in a backwater of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to the originator of Art Nouveau in Paris, to his development as a utopian philosopher. Marcus will discuss Alphonse’s dedication of his life and talents to the establishment of his new country of Czechoslovakia – and the history of his legacy and how the Mucha family were able to protect it through the dark days of the Nazi occupation and communism before it flourished again after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
