DEPRESSION-ERA TREASURES AT THE NEW MEXICO MUSEUM OF ART
- February 06, 2026
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Plaza Building
Step into the art of the Depression era at The New Mexico Museum of Art, where four New Deal paintings by Tom Lea await. Join Dylan McDonald, Political Collections Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at NMSU, and Adair Margo, author of Tom Lea: An Oral History, to discuss the works that capture the grit, hope, and humanity of a transformative time in America, including two paintings commissioned by the Works Progress Administration. With every detail, Lea’s brush breathes life into forgotten moments, offering a window into the spirit of the 1930s.
