Family Art Making

The New Mexico Museum of Art invites families to a fun, drop-in art making session at the Vladem Contemporary. Explore the galleries to find inspiration and enjoy the power of creating with loved ones and friends. Light snacks are available.

On November 1, the activity focuses on collage, using paper, magazines, colored pencils, paint, and more. Collage art has been around long before the Modernists of the early 20th century, and was used by Cubist, Dadaist, Pop artists among other contemporary practices. Mixed media collage was often used to question how art is defined, and it has helped break down the barriers between art and daily life. This activity is inspired by works of art in our permanent collection.
