The New Mexico Museum of Art’s Annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 13th from 10am to 5pm. Admission for the galleries and all activities is free for everyone. Join us for marionette shows, music, arts and crafts, gallery tours and more!
10:30- 11:00 Join us for this holiday tradition that started in 1932 as Teatro Duende Presents “A Holiday Party for Pappa Gus” with the Gustave Baumann marionette replicas. All ages are welcome with special seating for children. This performance will have ASL interpretation.
11:00-11:30 Selfies with Santa- After the marionette show, take a picture with Santa (the marionette Santa) while he sits on your lap! This event takes place on stage in St. Francis Auditorium immediately following the marionette performance.
11:00-1:00 Join us in the Museum Library for a peek into the archives as we display items from our Gustave Baumann Collection! We will also be showcasing holiday cards by artists such as Gustave Baumann, Will Shuster, Olive Rush and others.
11:00-12:00 Explore the exhibition Gustave Baumann: The Artist’s Environment on a free tour guided by Curator, Tom Leech. Tours will meet in the Roland Gallery, next to the gift shop.
12:00-12:30 Enjoy a noon-time performance with musician David Solem on the restored McNary pipe organ in St. Francis Auditorium.

3:30-4:30 The Santa Fe Symphony Youth Jazz Project joins us again for a holiday concert featuring the Rendija, Tesuque, Potrillo and Atalaya Combos.
From 10am to 4:30pm everyone is invited to enjoy family friendly scavenger hunts and other activities in the galleries. In the lobby there arts and craft activities will be available, including card making and print making using our replicas of a set of Gustave Baumann’s blocks.
