Window Box Project Open Call

2024 Applications Open March 29, 2024 – May 5, 2024 [Midnight MST]

The New Mexico Museum of Art invites emerging and under-represented artists living and working in New Mexico to apply for the opportunity to access exhibition space and resources to create ambitious, installation-based work. This new work will be shown in our Window Box at the Vladem Contemporary, on the corner of Guadalupe and Montezuma streets in Santa Fe, NM.

Emerging and underrepresented artists and artist collectives are invited to submit a proposal to the Museum through Microsoft Forms between March 29, 2024 and May 5, 2024.

Proposals will be reviewed by New Mexico Museum of Art Staff. Selected artists will be provided with curatorial support in the form of studio visits, writing and editing support, and installation guidance. Window Box artists will also be provided with an honorarium of $6,000.00 for materials and expenses, as well as professional photo documentation of the completed work. Selected artists will present their work via a formal artist talk, studio workshop, or other public engagement at the Museum of Art Vladem Contemporary.

Applications open at 12:00am, midnight on Friday, March 29, 2024. The deadline for submission is 11:59pm on Sunday, May 5th 2024.

Artist collectives are welcome to apply for this opportunity as long as there is a singular vision evident in their proposal. Collectives and collaborators must note that, regardless of the number of participating artists, the project budget will remain the same.
