- August 22, 2025
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM - Vladem Contemporary

Join us for a conversation with Frederick Hammersley Artist-in-Residence, Thu Kim Vu. Vu, who works at the intersection of line drawing, paper sculpture and light is based in Hanoi, Vietnam, and uses travel as a major source of inspiration, shaping her works into many different directions. During her presentation, Vu will discuss how she uses Vietnamese Zo paper, Japanese Washi paper, Chinese ink brushes and LED light to explore and modify temporary spaces. Thu Kim Vu is the Frederick Hammersely artist-in-residence at the New Mexico Museum of Art Vladem Contemporary from August 1-29, 2025. The artist-in-residence program is generously supported by a grant from the Frederick Hammersley Fund for the Arts at the Albuquerque Community Foundation.
