First Friday: Opening for Rick Dillingham: To Make, Unmake, and Make Again
- October 06, 2023
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Plaza Building
Join us to celebrate the opening of our exhibition Rick Dillingham: To Make, Unmake, and Make Again. A prominent fixture in the Santa Fe arts community, Rick Dillingham was a scholar, author, collector, curator, dealer, and ceramic artist who was firmly grounded in the tradition and canon of Southwest ceramics.
The New Museum of Art is excited to partner with Paseo Pottery for a special make and take clay activity in the courtyard from 5-7pm. For the duration of the exhibition, museum guests can use admission tickets to receive $5 off clay and products at our neighbor, Tumbleroot Pottery Pub.
The exhibition brings works from Dillingham’s ceramic practice into conversation with his personal collection of artwork and Indigenous ceramics to examine the role collecting had on his artwork, and to tell the story of his evolution as a maker and community collaborator.
This is a FREE event.
